Yorkshire Region

To make organisation and management of the Branch easier, we organise ourselves into Regions, and within these are Counties. Each Region has its own Regional Representative and within the regions each county has a county Representative. The county’s within the Yorkshire region are:
- East Yorkshire
- North Yorkshire
- South Yorkshire
- West Yorkshire
Motorcycling in Yorkshire delivers some of the finest riding in the UK, combining dramatic landscapes, historic roads, and a strong sense of biker community. From the sweeping moorland routes of the North York Moors and the rugged passes of the Yorkshire Dales to flowing A-roads and tight country lanes, the county offers riding to suit every taste. Iconic stretches such as Butter Tubs Pass, Blakey Ridge, and the roads around Ribblesdale are favourites with riders year after year.
Yorkshire’s rich motorcycling heritage and welcoming biker scene are reflected in its cafés, ride-outs, and regular events, making it a natural gathering place for riders from across the country. With its sheer size and variety, Yorkshire lends itself just as easily to a relaxed evening ride as it does to a full day exploring coast, moorland, and dales — all without ever leaving the county.

- Butter Tubs Pass (B6270): A legendary Yorkshire Dales route between Hawes and Swaledale, featuring steep climbs, tight bends, and breathtaking views. One of the most iconic motorcycle roads in the UK, though riders should watch for livestock and sudden weather changes.
- Blakey Ridge (A169): Running from Pickering to Whitby across the North York Moors, this exposed moorland road offers long sweeping bends and huge open views. A favourite for relaxed rides and unforgettable sunsets.
- The Dales Loop: A varied full-day route linking Leyburn, Hawes, Grassington, and Pateley Bridge. Expect a mix of technical sections, open roads, traditional villages, and plenty of welcoming café stops.
- Holmfirth & Saddleworth Loop: A more technical ride through Pennine scenery around Holmfirth, Meltham, and Marsden. Tight bends, elevation changes, and engaging roads make this a favourite with confident riders.
- Howardian Hills Route: A gentler but picturesque route through the countryside between Malton, Helmsley, and Hovingham. Ideal for relaxed group rides on quiet roads with classic Yorkshire charm.
The RBLR community in Yorkshire is proud, welcoming, and firmly rooted in service and remembrance. From the historic streets of cities like Leeds, York, and Sheffield to the sweeping roads of the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, and rugged coastline, riders come together with a shared commitment to supporting veterans and championing the Poppy Appeal. Whether attending remembrance services, staffing collections and stalls, or riding in parades through market towns and village memorials, Yorkshire riders proudly represent the Royal British Legion at every opportunity.
The spirit is unmistakably Yorkshire: straight-talking, warm-hearted, and quietly determined — fueled by camaraderie, respect, and a deep love of the open road.
