East Region

To make organisation and management of the Branch easier, we organise ourselves into Regions, and within these are Counties. Each Region has its own Regional Representative and within the regions each county has a county Representative. The county’s within the South East region are:
- Bedfordshire
- Buckinghamshire
- Cambridgeshire
- Essex
- Hertfordshire
- London
- Norfolk
- Oxon
- Suffolk
- West London
Motorcycling through this expansive slice of England offers an incredible transition from the dense, high-energy filtering of London and West London—home to iconic biker hubs like the Ace Cafe—straight into the technical, tree-lined twists of the Chiltern Hills across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire.
As the urban sprawl fades, the landscape opens up into the fast-flowing, rolling sweeps of Oxon and the rural links of Cambridgeshire, before flattening out into the big-sky touring paradise of East Anglia. Cruising through Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk rewards riders with everything from postcard-perfect village stops like Finchingfield to breezy, open coastal roads and the unique, pine-lined straights of Thetford Forest, making it a spectacular region for both short, technical bursts and relaxed weekend touring.

- The Chilterns Twist
Technical elevation changes. Cutting right through the heart of the Chiltern Hills, this ride swaps out flat expanses for tight, tree-lined, undulating tarmac. It delivers sudden elevation drops, tight blind corners, and crisp, sweeping curves that demand good gear selection and smooth throttle control. - The Big Sky Coastline
The ultimate open touring road. The A149 coastal road serves up sweeping, fast-flowing asphalt under massive East Anglian skies. You’ll skim past salt marshes, breezy coastal dunes, and open straights, offering a relaxed, scenic cruise with plenty of coastal seafood stops along the way. - The Capital Escape
Urban milestone to rural freedom. Start at the historic Ace Cafe in West London to soak in the heritage, filter out of the urban sprawl via the A40, and push out into Oxfordshire (Oxon). Once past Oxford, the roads morph into fast, undulating rural links, leading to the roller-coaster dips of the B4437 near Charlbury—the gateway to the Cotswolds. - The East Anglia Icon
Pure classic English countryside. This route takes you past rolling farmland, tight village bends, and straight down into Finchingfield—the undisputed motorcycle mecca of Essex, perfect for a mid-ride pub or cafe stop. It wraps up heading north toward Bury St Edmunds where you can finish at the legendary Krazy Horse biker hub.
The RBLR community across this expansive region is incredibly active, welcoming, and proudly committed to the values of the Royal British Legion. From the bustling urban streets of London and West London to the rolling hills of Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Bedfordshire, and across the sweeping plains of Cambridgeshire, Oxon, Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk, riders bring together a shared passion for motorcycling with a dedication to remembrance and charitable support.
Whether taking part in Poppy Appeal collections in historic university towns, supporting local Legion branches at community events, or proudly flying the RBLR colours at remembrance services from urban landmarks to quiet coastal communities, members are constantly out on the road doing good. It is a region full of immense energy, deep camaraderie, and diverse landscapes—friendly, forward-looking, and always ready to ride with purpose and pride.
