RBLR1000 – Sponsorship

Sponsorship
We kindly ask that you raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship (in total) which is all paid into the Poppy Appeal.
This can be paid with the entry fee or a cheque to be handed over at the start point.

Here’s our step by step guide to help you on your way with asking people to sponsor you. We understand it’s tough for so many people at the moment with the rising cost of energy, fuel and food so fundraising might feel hard
If you follow these simple 5 steps you should be well on your way to reach your fundraising target and maybe even smash your sponsorship goals!
- Set a realistic goal. Setting a realistic goal that you want to reach helps to keep you focused and consistently motivated through your fundraising. Of course you can always raise more than your goal!
- Know what you are talking about! It will help no end if you can explain what the poppy appeal is and how it supports so many veterans. Of course it will also help if you can explain the RBLR1000 to potential sponsors so take some time to do your homework!
- Spread the word. Asking for sponsorship can sometimes feel a little awkward—you don’t want to pester people or come across as a nuisance. But the truth is, most people are glad to be asked, even if they can’t contribute at the time. A great place to start is with friends and family, who may already know how important the Poppy Appeal is to you. From there, don’t be afraid to reach out to your wider circle and make use of social media—it’s a fantastic way to spread the word and share your story.
Another great way to raise sponsorship is with an online fundraising page. It’s easy to set up your JustGiving page and start raising money for the RBLR1000. Once you’ve started receiving donations, Just Giving will take care of sending the donations to the Poppy Appeal. Just Giving attracts a 0% Platform Fee, and is secure & safe to use.
