Ulceby Cross 80th Memorial Service Lincolnshire

We have once again been invited to attend this event. This is the 80th celebration.
For those requiring breakfast or Sunday dinner, meet at JJ’s at Hagworthingham. 20 tables are booked from 11.30am we will be leaving at 13.15hrs.

Commemoration Ceremonies in Respect of the Crew of the Lancaster Bomber PB476, Near Ulceby Cross.
Muster at the Memorial at 13.30hrs for a service at 14.00hrs.
(Junction of Partney Road & Harrington Road)
(South of Ulceby Cross)

Concluded by Service at their Graves in Alford Cemetery.

Then to the Memorial Hall for refreshments.

This memorial is dedicated to the 7 killed crew members of a Lancaster bomber (serial number: PB476) that crashed here on 4 March 1945, after it was hit by a German fighter. The text on the memorial reads:
“In the early hours of March 4th, 1945 Lancaster PB 476(PHY) of Number 12 Squadron RAF Wickenby crashed near this spot the victim of a Luftwaffe intruder. This memorial was placed here on the 50th anniversary of the crash to commemorate the crew members who died.
