The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal is the organisation’s biggest fundraising campaign, held annually in the weeks leading up to Remembrance Sunday. The appeal officially launches in late October—with poppies becoming widely available from the launch across local supermarkets, high street shops, and stations.

The appeal serves a vital dual purpose: it acts as a symbol of remembrance to honour the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War and subsequent conflicts, and it stands as a sign of hope for a peaceful future. Crucially, the funds raised directly support the Armed Forces community—providing lifelong financial, emotional, and practical assistance to serving personnel, veterans, and their families with housing, employment, and mental health services.

To mark the launch of the 2026 Poppy Appeal, members of the Royal British Legion Riders Branch from Cheshire and North Wales are hitting the road for an unforgettable weekend of remembrance, community spirit, and incredible machinery.

Why do we do it? Because the Poppy Launch is our way of not only celebrating, but actively raising public awareness for the vital work of the Poppy Appeal and introducing the Riders Branch to the local community—and we do it in the only way we know best: riding our motorcycles together.

Across Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th of October, our riders will journey between historic war memorials spanning Cheshire and North Wales. At each stop, we invite local dignitaries, veterans, and members of the public to join us for a poignant short act of remembrance. It is a powerful moment to pause, reflect, and honour those who have served and sacrificed, all while sharing our passion with the public.

Come along to meet our riders, chat with local veterans, admire a stunning array of superb motorcycles, and pick up your poppies and official merchandise.
