North West Region

To make organisation and management of the Branch easier, we organise ourselves into Regions, and within these are Counties. Each Region has its own Regional Representative and within the regions each county has a county Representative. The county’s within the North West region are:

  1. Cheshire
  2. Cumbria
  3. Isle of Man
  4. Lancashire
  5. Manchester
  6. Merseyside
  7. Wirral

Motorcycling in the North West Region offers an exceptional variety of riding experiences, from gentle countryside cruising to legendary roads steeped in history. Cheshire’s rolling lanes and Lancashire’s open moorland routes are perfect for relaxed touring, while Cumbria’s dramatic mountain passes deliver some of the most rewarding riding in England. Urban hubs like Manchester and Merseyside provide vibrant biker culture and easy access to surrounding countryside, and the Wirral combines quiet back roads with sweeping coastal views. Crowning it all is the Isle of Man, home to the world-famous Isle of Man TT, where real roads become a global stage for road racing each year, making this region a true pilgrimage area for motorcyclists.

  • Cheshire: Cat & Fiddle Road (A537) – A classic biker route linking Macclesfield and Buxton, famous for its sweeping bends and moorland views.
  • Cumbria: Hardknott & Wrynose Passes – Challenging and steep, offering some of the most rewarding riding in England.
  • Isle of Man Mountain TT Course – The legendary public-road circuit used for the world-famous Isle of Man TT, a bucket-list ride for motorcyclists.
  • Lancashire Coastal Route – From Lytham to Morecambe, offering relaxed riding with big skies and sea air.
  • Greater Manchesters Snake Pass (A57) – A legendary ride heading east into the Peak District, packed with bends and elevation changes.
  • Liverpool Waterfront Loop – Urban riding with iconic landmarks and quick access to surrounding countryside.
  • Wirral: Thurstaston & West Kirby Run – Short but scenic routes with elevated views across the Dee Estuary towards North Wales.

The Riders of the North West region of the Royal British Legion Riders Branch are proud, passionate, and firmly rooted in service and remembrance. Spanning the great riding counties of Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, the Wirral, and stretching across to the Isle of Man, riders are united by a shared commitment to veterans, community, and camaraderie. From city-centre collections and coastal parades to quiet moments of remembrance at rural memorials, North West RBLR riders proudly support the Poppy Appeal, attend commemorative events, and represent the Legion wherever the road takes them.

The spirit of the North West is unmistakable — down-to-earth, resilient, and warm-hearted — fuelled by pride, purpose, and a deep love of riding together for something bigger than ourselves.
