South West Region

To make organisation and management of the Branch easier, we organise ourselves into Regions, and within these are Counties. Each Region has its own Regional Representative and within the regions each county has a county Representative. The county’s within the South West region are:

  1. Cornwall
  2. Devon
  3. Somerset

Motorcycling through Cornwall, Devon and Somerset is one of the great pleasures of riding in the UK, offering a mix of rugged coastline, rolling countryside and wild moorland that feels tailor-made for two wheels. Riders find quiet B-roads, big sky views, friendly cafés and pubs, and a sense of freedom that makes every journey feel fresh and memorable—whether it’s a weekend blast or a long, lazy tour of the south-west coast.

  • St Ives → Zennor → Land’s End → Penzance
A stunning coastal loop with tight bends, Atlantic views and granite moorland. Wild, windy and unforgettable.
  • Dartmoor Crossing (Princetown → Two Bridges → Postbridge → Moretonhampstead)
Open moorland, wandering ponies, military straights and huge skies — the closest thing to riding across wilderness in England.
  • Exmoor Coast Loop (Lynton → Porlock Hill → Minehead)
Porlock Hill is legendary — crazy steep. Exmoor delivers sweeping bends, moorland, and seaside all in one ride.
  • Cheddar Gorge Loop
Ride through towering limestone walls, then loop around the Mendips for open ridges and big views — fantastic in early morning or late afternoon.

The RBLR community in the South West is thriving and enthusiastic, combining a love of motorcycling with a deep commitment to remembrance and charitable support. Riders across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset regularly take to the road to champion the Poppy Appeal, staff collections and stalls in towns and villages, and proudly represent the Royal British Legion at remembrance services throughout the region — from windswept coastal memorials to formal parades in historic market towns.

The spirit is unmistakably West Country: friendly, determined, and always ready to ride for a purpose.
